Introduction.     

Nextec Engineering (Pvt) Ltd is a new state of the art manufacturing unit established for the manufacture of high quality components for automotive, motorbike, textile and general engineering sectors. The project also has the Die and Mold making facility. 

The project concept is based on the latest concept of “virtual factory”. Virtual Factory comprises of computer aided design (CAD), computer aided manufacturing (CAM) and computer aided inspection (CAI).  Solidworks 2007, Rapidform 2007 and Visi 15 design software are used for CAD. These are the most advance design softwares and are being used by aerospace, automotive, Die & Molds and engineering sectors in USA and Europe. Software interacts with CAM and CAI systems. VISI Series 15 is used for the design and CNC Programming of Dies and Mold. This is the most recognized software in the tool and dies sector in North America, Europe and Japan.

For CAM, state of the art CNC Machining Centers with auto tool changer (ATC) and auto pallet changer (APC) are installed. Each machine is equipped with its own control computer that is linked to the central CAD/CAM system. In addition to the Machining Centers, CNC Turning Centers, CNC Circular & Surface Grinders, CNC Wire Cut EDM, CNC Spark Erosion are installed.  A whole lot of manual machines like milling, turning, grinding, shaping, drilling etc. are installed as a support function.

Besides digital instruments and gauges, a Non-contact Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) is installed for accurate measurement of the completed parts to ensure world class quality. 3DModern facilities for digitalizing and reverse engineering system have been introduced. This system provides accurate non contact measurement of the machined parts and their comparison with the design data.

 Scope of Work.

Motorbike Parts. Motorbike manufacturers are one of the target customers of Nextec. Company is producing high accuracy parts such as engine block, engine head, crank case, crankcase cover and other transmission parts. The Company is supplying these parts to Metro Motorcycle, Super Asia Motorcycle, United Motorcycle, New Asia Motorcycle, Road Prince Motorcycle and Ghani Motorcycle, Sonica Auto Industries.  Many OEM’s are in contact for future capacity allocation.

Tractors Parts. Nextec is supplying Center Housing to Millat Tractors Ltd for their MF Tractors. Transmission Housing is being delivered to PM Auto Industries (Euro Ford) Hyderabad. Other Tractors Assemblers such as Fiat, Hero and Master Tractors are negotiating for the development of similar parts for their tractors as well.

Car/Truck Parts.

We have devised our plans to develop various components of cars and trucks. In this regard, various car components have been picked up for development. Pak Suzuki, Honda, Ghandhara Nissan Industries have shown their interests in this regard.

Molds & Dies. Nextec has the capability to produce Molds and Dies for the manufacturing sector. Currently, most of the molds and dies are imported from other countries. Nextec has ensured international quality and shorter time span to produced these items locally. This service is provided on first come first served basis depending upon the open capacity. Currently this service is being provided to Metro Hi-Tech, Arco Plastic, and to Government Organizations.

Process Introduction:
Our services are based on the concept of 'virtual factory.' Virtual Factory comprises of Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and the Computer Aided Inspection (CAI).  The following standard procedure is followed for the machining for parts at nextec.
Step-1
core activity involves machining of automotive components only thus required raw material that consists of Aluminum Crankcases and Miscellaneous Steel Iron Parts, are taken from our vendor, depending upon the purchase orders in hand. These crankcases are stocked in NEXTEC store and the concerned production department is informed about the availability of material. The quality department randomly selects some of the components for Material Analysis to maintain utmost quality standards.
Step-2
Then comes the design and computer programming for the machining of components. Although, it is not done in routine, because, once design and computer program is finalized, there are rare chances of the amendment thereof.
Step-3
After getting verification from the design team, the production department are endured to start the machining of crankcases strictly considering the required dimension. For machining, state of the art 4/5 axis CNC Machining Centers with Auto Tool Changer (ATC), Auto Pallet Changer (APC), and water cooling system for cutting tools have been installed. Each machine has been equipped with its own control computer that linked to the central CAD/CAM system. Whit the help of all these and utilization of precise tools we are logging non challengeable quality results. The machining cycle time differs depending upon the size of component and machine used to process it. Raw material is machined so precisely to remove unnecessary material in order to transform a rough material into ready to fit product.
Step-4
Machined components are then delivered to Quality Control Department for Final Inspection. Quality inspectors carefully inspect all the dimensions and make sure that quality standards have been followed. Besides trained team, digital instruments, gauges, and a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) are utilized for accurate measurements of the completed parts to ensure world class quality.
Step-5
After careful inspection by the quality control department, final components are packed in cartons and delivered to customers.
